The 3rd Brentwood Beaver Scout Colony meets every Thursday (school term time) between 5:45 – 7pm at our Scout Hut in King Georges Playing Fields. We are fortunate to have the park on our doorstep and spend some time outdoors every week when the weather permits.
Beavers who join us at the age of six will have a varied programme over two years, having fun, making friends and learning new skills. We invite people from our community to visit us at our meetings to share the important contribution that they make. The Mayor, police, guide dog and hearing dog to name a few. We also invite parents to come in and share their skills with the Beavers.
We regularly visit Thriftwood Scout Campsite for an evening, a day or a night for a sleepover. We go fishing in the pond, climbing on the climbing wall and cook sausages and toast marshmallows on an open fire. We also enjoy pedal cars, cresta run, water activities, archery and many more activities that are on offer at the campsite.
While they are having fun, Beavers work towards various Challenge and Activity Badges.
We usually present badges at the end of each term and once a year the Beavers who achieve The Chief Scout Bronze Award are invited with their families to a County Awards ceremony to receive their very special award.
