Beavers

The 3rd Brentwood Beaver Scout Colony meets every Tuesday (term time) between 4.15 – 5.30 at the Brentwood Cathedral Parish Hall.

The Colony is headed up by Beaver Scout Leader, Julie Hickman and is supported by a great team of 4 assistant leaders and parent helpers.

We have 24 children in our section, ranging in ages from 6 – 8 years old.

As well as our normal weekly meetings, we take the children out on weekend visits to County and District fun days, campfire nights, the Natural History & Science museums and we also take part in the annual district trip to the Christmas panto.

The highlight for most of the children is the twice yearly sleepover.  We take the Beavers over to Thriftwood Scout Camp and meet up with a fellow Beaver Scout Colony to spend the weekend taking part in activities such as climbing, the cave maze, the cresta run and games.  We also hold a themed sleepover where we can be pirates, cowboys or spacemen for the weekend!

We are very proud of all our Beavers who achieve their Chief Scout Bronze Award and always enjoy joining them at the County Awards ceremony to see them receive their special award.
