When I wake up, well I know I’m gonna be,
I’m gonna be the man who wakes up next you
When I go out, yeah I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the man who goes along with you
If I get drunk, well I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you
And if I haver up, yeah I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the man who’s havering to youBut I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walks a thousand miles
To fall down at your door
The Proclaimers said they’d walk 500 miles, and then they’d walk 500 more.
I dont believe it. Thats a hell of a long way!
We’re training to walk 100km in 24 hours, and we’re not starting from Leith but travelling between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
There are 7 of us confirmed in our team at the moment and 100km in miles is 62.5. I’ve done the maths and this is a group total of 437.5 miles. Together we dont even add up to those two famous Scottish brothers.
Hopefully we’ll be recruiting our 8th team member to confirm soon, and rather magically that means that our group total is the magical 500 miles. You can sod the other 500! Maybe next year?
